The festive season is in full swing, the New Year eve is coming, and therefore our today’s post is somewhat a combination of various news and findings related to the current mood and season as well as to the events, of course. Such mix resembles the infamous Russian salad, or Olivier salad, which is a mix of quite a variety of ingredients together making up a tasty dish, and a traditional one to appear at every Russian family’s table for the New Year Eve. Thus we decided it would make perfect sense we’ve got our very own Russian-salad styled post.
Here are six pieces we’ve selected for you today – they all are about events anyway, and also all things winter and winter holidays. Enjoy!
Snow Castle
If you are looking for a fresh concept for the corporate event or incentive, look no further. With this you’ll get all you need for your client plus their eternal delight with your creativity. Consider holding your event at a Snow Castle or an Ice Hotel. For example, in Jukkasjarvi (Sweden) or Kemi (Finland). (I’ve been to Kemi Castle myself and can assure you it is a great place for an event indeed!)
It’s not just non-ordinary place – it is truly impressive experience one will remember for long. Besides, seems like management teams of these places do their best to provide eventprofs with great service offers. These are not just tourist attractions any more – these are full-function venue for a variety of events – whatever you can imagine (and your budget handle). Some highlights include:
- Wedding ceremony at an ice chapel
- Corporate events, product launch or music performance in the main hall
- Ice sculpture lessons, snowmobiles tours etc as extra service to the programme which includes a must-do ice hotel stay (and some time at an ice bar of course ;))
- Olokolo nests with a roof with a view to the sky – to not miss the Northern Lights!
- The Ice Hotel in Sweden plans running in summer, too. So if you’ve got a summer event, you can make it brilliantly cool 😉
In short, this is a must do for 2016 and definitely unique experience.
Arctic Cup in Sochi
Love drive? Organise sport events? This news is for you. The first part of the Mitjet Russian series of the Arctic Cup races will take place in Sochi early January 2016. “Mitjet races started in France in 2006. It is becoming increasingly popular in Russia and all over the world, and are as spectacular as other leading racing competitions’, – the organisers claim. Besides, on 24th of December the Arctic World Club held the first international Arctic Awards event which aimed to promote the issues of exploring and developing the Russian Arctic.
Iceland
Many would like to explore this country of hard-to-pronounce names and beautiful nature. Well, seems like 2016 would be the right time for that. Iceland has been named among 16 emerging travel destinations according to CNN.
Into the Glacier, the longest man-made tunnel is one of the most popular sights in the country.
Here eventprofs are also provided with diverse service – you can go either for a standard option of visiting the caves and the tunnel, or quite unusual things like wedding in the ice chapel or cave rental to have a private party.
A gift for an event-PRO
What to present an eventprof with on this festive season? If you find yourself asking this question, look no further – we’ve found the PERFECT option for you.
It’s well known that an eventprof is a person with a creative mind, good sense of humour, hard to get surprised and the one getting stressed a lot on a regular basis. So this gift will cover all of these points: a coloring book for adults featuring winter theme! Like this one.
Such present will
- cater for an eventprof’s creativity
- help them relax (remember? – event planning has been named 8th most stressful job in 2015!)
- undoubtedly, be the non-ordinary gift
- definitely add to the festive mood
Ice-breakers
Once we already wrote about this often used part of an event – an ice breaking game. It is often used at different types of events, business events in particular. And is a great way to introduce attendees to each other and make the interaction and networking effective from the very start.
They surely vary depending on the type of an event – the one intended for a party is not suitable for a business environment. Our fav game is to ask everyone tell one or two facts about themselves that nobody in the room would know (that works really well especially if people know each other, e.g. at a team building event).
But there are also more universal forms. For instance, the following option will be great for a festive event: divide people into groups of two, tied one of their hands, and ask them to wrap up a small gift box using the free hands. To view this one and many other great games, look here
Snow Show
Russian’s Slava Polunin Snow Show is a magic, world class performance popular all over the world – a must-see event for everybody, indeed. From 29th of Jan 2016 the Show will again come to Moscow, and you can also check the dates for the nearest location the event is held while on tour.
The show is a thought-provoking, most positive and I would say even healing event – something, I would claim we all need just right on the edge of the new year.. Don’t you agree?
To conclude: whatever type of event or whatever aspect of an event we talk, it seems like the main message for eventprof for 2016 would be the following:
any event and its every detail should make up a combination of creativity, innovation and the maximum value possible.
Happy New Year everyone!
